The Racer has been going for 45 years, so you can expect it to be rough. The blue side is much smoother, though. This ride is perfect for those who are in between Flying Ace Aerial Chase and Diamondback. It's not very tall, it's not over-the-top fast, and it's not very steep. This coaster is much smoother at the beginning of the season and at the beginning of Haunt. If you go to Kings Island, absolutely do not skip this ACE Roller Coaster Landmark!
This was the first coaster I ever road and is still one of the best to ride to this day!
It was very rough currently and needs an RMC or GCI. It is not "roughness is the experience" unlike the other two major woodies in the park. If you want the credit, Go to Six Flags Magic Mountain. If you grew up with this or want to have to get headaches. The only good thing about the train is the lap bars (hallelujah) and the only good thing about the coaster since the backwards trains of the 90s are long gone.
I actually got a once in a lifetime experience on this ride! It was almost closing and for some reason after me and my friend boarded the train they decided to close the gates! It wasn't until halfway out of the station we realized we were alone! We were on the red train and the blue was closed so we were legit the only 2 people on the entire coaster! As we went up the lift hill me and my friend couldn't believe that this was happening! Our attention was so drawn away from the coaster that we didn't realize how far up we were until we were pulled over the lift hill into the drop! This was the best ride ever! There was hardly any roughness and we were the only two screaming! This will be a memory never forgotten! Thank you Kings Island!
Good, but not as good as it was in 1972.
Employees running the ride sees very energetic, the wait isn't long because each color has three carts, drops are fun, the only problem I have with this ride is how jerky it is. Even how jerky it is, I still enjoy riding it.
